The 2025 VW State Classic is making waves in Coffs Harbour from May 27 to June 1, marking a historic moment in Australian surfing. For the first time, five Surfing NSW State Titles - Junior, Masters Shortboard, Longboard, Stand-Up Paddle (SUP), and High School are united under one banner, creating an inclusive, all-ages celebration of surf culture.
Over 700 surfers aged 10 to 80+ are competing across three iconic breaks on the Coffs Coast: Diggers Beach, Macauley’s Beach and Park Beach. The event headquarters at Aanuka Beach House serves as the hub for both competition and community connection.
Supported by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the event not only crowns state champions but also serves as a pathway to the Australian National Titles. Local boardrider clubs from Sawtell, Woolgoolga and Coffs Harbour are actively involved, reinforcing the community-driven nature of the festival.
If you're in the area, pop down this weekend to catch the finals, soak up the beach vibes, and support the incredible local and state surfing talent.
